Why?

Giant Steps is an idea conceived by Susan Campion and Kwame Tsikata (M.anifest).

It was born out of Susan’s and Kwame’s recognition that as much as they had  many  differences—--as the founder of Camponovo Consulting and an independent artist, respectively—there were many unifying challenges and stories they shared, so they decided to expand the conversation to include others.

Who?

Susan Campion is the founder of Camponovo Consulting, a firm that helps organizations and individuals grow, improve, and become more successful by mixing established analytical business practices with creative ideas from artists, outsiders, and especially, the ideas and brilliance within their own organization.  She’s heavily involved in education—teaching in the MBA and executive education programs at the University of St. Thomas and North Hennepin Community College.  She also spends a significant portion of her time doing pro bono consulting work and mentoring at the High School for Recording Arts (“Hip Hop High").  A global citizen who’s lived in five countries and traveled to many more, she’s been collecting good ideas and good music from all over the world for most of the last 20 years.

Kwame A. Tsikata (M.anifest) Ghanaian-born M.anifest has listeners spellbound to his unique blend of Hip-Hop/So ul music that's equally as influenced by Fela Kuti and Hugh Masekela as it is by Q-Tip and Mos Def. He was recently profiled by  Allhiphop.com as “1 of 4 African artists to look out for” and Voted 2008's Songwriter of the Year by the Minneapolis' City Pages. M.anifest made a lasting impression with hi s widely appreciated 2007 debut record, Manifestations (Jakarta/Groove Attack), which was selected as one of the Top 5 albums of 2007 by the Minneapolis StarTribune. In 2010, he’s released an EP, Two Africans  and a Jew, with his side project with artists Krukid and Budo called A.R.M. (African Rebel Movement). The EP has already been selected one of the best local releases of 2010. He also nears completion of his follow-up solo album, Coming To America as well as a soul-oriented project with Brooklyn soulstress Sarah White.  Performance credits include K'naan, Atmosphere, Brother Ali.
